The Story Behind Vee Tee Angus

Our Angus herd grew out of an inablity to find herdsires for our large commerical cow herd that had the traits we were looking for. After looking around the country awhile , we came across two herds in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. The Hillfire Angus herd and Bowerman Bros. Angus had a bull from Ohlde Cattle Company of Palmer Kansas called OCC Legacy 893L. One look at those females and the sale bulls and the rest as they say is history.

After purchasing some bulls in their sale, John Setrakov of Hillfire approached us about buying the bulk of his Legacy females as well as all the calves off the remaining older cows in the future. These young cow along with large select group of the Bowerman herd gave us the core of the herd we have today. Then with a few trips from Montana to Oklahoma and points in between we purchased some elite sires from Ohlde's in Kansas to continue the amazing foundation Legacy has given us.

Today the Angus program is part of our Fifth generation farm and ranch operation that includes a 6000 head feedlot, a 1500 head cow herd, 3000 acres of farming and a livestock order buying business. Not the small family farm that it was 100 years ago, but a family farm more than ever. Our four families plus several long time employees call Vee Tee home. Great leadership and great employees are what has made it so sucessful.
